Important Info!
This recipe requires a reasonable amount of brewing knowledge. The malt bill of 12kg will require a brewing system capable of this intergalactic grist. If you are brewing in a smaller system then you’ll need to do a reiterated mash. This involves splitting the grain bill, mashing once and then using the sweet wort to re-mash with the other half of the grain bill. GRAIN COMES IN TWO EQUAL HALVES. Instructions provided are as concise as possible, taking into consideration each brewers setup will be different.
The fermentation process has primary, secondary and tertiary stages, and will need to be racked into a different vessel after each stage (so you will need at least 2 vessels: Primary – Vessel 1, secondary – vessel 2, tertiary – vessel 1). The beer will benefit from considerable ageing. If you’re in a hurry then this is not the beer you are looking for!
You will need to provide approx 500ml of vodka to steep the nibs and vanilla pods.
