Description
These copper counter flow chillers are probably one of the fastest ways to chill wort. They are similarly efficient as the 30 plate chillers however they are easier to clean as they do not have all the small crevasses to trap hop material and other
solids. The copper is a very good conductor of heat. These units are 23cm in diameter and about 18cm high. The input and output are approximately 10mm outside diameter. These can be used with gravity but are recommended to use with a pump.
Wort Heat Exchanger – Counterflow Chiller
Chiller comes with copper 10mm input and output connections. Choose between the chiller only and the chiller with connection fittings. Connection fittings allow a standard hose pipe to be used for the cold water and a 1/2 inch barb for connecting to your wort supply. Inn addition a ball valve is supplied. This allows the input water to be dialled in for your chosen output temperature. Full mains pressure shouldn’t be used with as it can damage the chiller!
PLEASE NOTE: These counterflow chillers have a pliable polymer outer shroud. Because if this, they should not be exposed to restricted unregulated mains water pressures which can easily reach ~100psi when the flow is restricted. Warranty does not cover bursts/ruptures/blowouts of this outer layer resultant from having a kink in your output hose, restricting attachments on the output (such as sprinklers) or similar. Always ensure the output hose is free from any pressure buildup when using unregulated mains water.
